The Mite Society of the benefit of the M.E. church in this city, was organized at Mrs. W.E. JONES' on Wednesday evening last, by electing Mrs. MATHEWS, President; Mrs. PRISER, Vice President; Mrs. FOOT, Secretary; and Mrs. RICKITTS, Treasurer. The next meeting of the Society will be held on Wednesday evening next, at Mrs. BIDDESON's. All are invited to attend.

MRS. J.H. Mathews received a telephone message Sunday evening that her sister Mrs. Loyd, of Kansas City, was dead. The news came as a shock to Mrs. Mathews as she had not known that her sister was dangerously ill. She and her son Artie went up to the city on the early train Monday evening.
