Blanche and Eddie met when Eddie and his brother Jim were boarders in Blanche’s mother’s boarding house. They were approximately 12 or 13 years old at the time they first met.

As the “Head Decorator” at Cake Box Bakeries in Kansas City, Eddie was selected to make the wedding cake for Margaret Truman’s wedding.
