Andrew Mathews is named as trustee for his sister Jane Simpson, nee Mathews and her husband William Simpson. At the time of a legal instrument dated 23 may 1868, Andrew is shown to be living in Linn County, Kansas. The 1870 Federal Census of Valley Township, Linn County, Kansas shows Andrew with his wife Jane, 27 years his junior. I believe that Andrew married his niece, the daughter of David Mathews and Susan McDonald. The two Mathews families are enumerated next to each other in 1870.
