First Baptist Church in David City, records have been missing since about 1900. In the early 1870's Rev. Jacob EARNHEART, living near Octavia, held services. The church was organized 13 Oct 1879 in the sod home of A. J. STAFFORD with trustees: Ira DOTY, Ezra STEPHENS, B.O. PERKINS, B. F. EASTMAN, J. B. CASE.
