Young Mother Dies In Doctor’s Office


Mrs. Darrell Simpson, 19 years old, 601 North Neil street, died suddenly shortly after 6 o’clock Saturday night in the office of Dr. E.L. Cavenee, whom she had visited with her mother-in-law, for the purpose of receiving treatment.

A post-mortem examination was held on order of Coroner John V. Swearingen, but the report of the physicians was not made known.

Death, according to Dr. Cavanee, was due to a weak heart, as the woman was undergoing light treatment at the time. Dr. Cavanee had been treating her for several days.

Accompanied by Relative


Mrs. Simpson. accompanied by Mrs. Jamie Simpson, her mother-in-law, visited the physician’s office for one of a series of treatments the deceased had been undergoing. A short time after arriving at the office, it was stated by the mother-in-law, the young woman fainted, and death ensued before she was revived. (sic)

Dr. Cavanee reported that the young woman had been complaining of severe headaches for the past four or five days.

Leaves Baby


The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Witt, 1002 West Beardsley, and was born near Savoy. She was married on June 29, 1919, to Darrell Simpson, and the couple had been residing with the husband’s parents at 601 North Neil street. Beside the husband and parents, a young daughter survives.

Coroner Swearingen announced that the inquest will be conducted at the city building Monday morning.

Funeral services will be held at the Simpson home, 601 North Neil street, at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
