Thomas R. Patton Jr., 54, died Tuesday in a nursing home at 17451
E. Medical Center Parkway, Independence, where he lived. He was
born in Topeka and had lived in this area most of his life. Mr.
Patton was a meat cutter for Balls Price Chopper in Lee's Summit
and earlier had worked for the Kroger Cp. for 30 years. He was
a member of the Raytown Congregation of the Reorgnaized Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a member of Local
576 of the Meat Cutters Union and a member of the Missouri Beekeepers
Association and the Midwestern Beekeepers Association. He was
a Marine veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He leaves two daughters, Miss Bobbi Patton, Kansas City, and
Mrs. Marsha K. Reese, Independence; two brothers, Paul Patton,
Kansas City, Kan., and Bill Patton, Kingman, Ariz; a sister,
Mrs. Jean Miller, Kansas City; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Carlson Independence
Chapel; burial in Bethel Cemetery, Leavenworth. Friends may call
from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel. The family request no
flowers and suggest contributions to the American Cancer Society.
