John William Patton, Sr., 64, Las Vegas, NV, (formerly of Overland Park, KS) passed away September 3, 1997, from cancer. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 7, at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, Overland Parl, KS; burial in Bethel Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel.

Mr. Patton was born January 7, 1933, in Kansas City, KS, and grew up in that area. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He served with the Overland Park Police Department and retired at the rank of Captain. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Patton and Paul Patton, and two sisters, Dorothy Simpson and Patty Potchad. Survivors include his wife, Linda Patton, Las Vegas, NV; Barbara Patton, Martinsville, MO, Cathy Patton, Bethany, MO, Cindy Carey, Zachary, LA, Mary Jones, Olathe, KS, and Marnie Seaver, Las Vegas, NV; his sister, Jean Miller, Raytown, MO; and ten grandchildren.
